Steward Council
The Steward Council Section of BTUonline.com is designed to provide all stewards with up-to-date information and resources to assist our "leaders-in-the-trenches" in doing the best organizing job possible.
BTU Stewards serve as the first line of representation for members. They play a critical role by staying informed of all member issues and concerns and answering member questions.
About the Steward Council
The BTU Steward Council generally meets at the end of the first month of each new school year. Steward Council meetings normally rotate with Area Steward meetings each month for the remainder of the school year. Stewards attend Council meetings in order to receive the most up-to-date information about critical union issues. When called upon to do so, the Steward Council also votes on important issues such as dues increases. All stewards are strongly encouraged to attend each Steward Council and Area Steward meeting.
